==History==
The village was established in 1959 with the assistance of [Jewish Colonisation Association](/source/Jewish_Colonisation_Association) by a [gar'in](/source/gar'in) of [Bnei Akiva](/source/Bnei_Akiva) members and was named after [Yehuda Leib Maimon](/source/Yehuda_Leib_Maimon), a signatory of the [Israeli declaration of independence](/source/Declaration_of_Independence_(Israel)) and the first [Minister of Religions](/source/Religions_Minister_of_Israel).<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20160303172529/http://eng.negev-net.org.il/HTMLs/article.aspx?C2004=12649 Kfar Maimon] Negev Information Centre</ref>
