==History==
It was established in 1946 by [Jew](/source/Jew)ish soldiers demobilised from the [British Army](/source/British_Army) after [World War II](/source/World_War_II) having served under [Frederick Kisch](/source/Frederick_Kisch), after whom the village was named.<ref>[http://www.izkor.gov.il/HalalKorot.aspx?id=506391 Frederick Kisch] Izkor {{in lang|he}}</ref> However political fractures led many of the founders to leave within the first year. A water shortage which forced the residents to transport water from the [Tabor stream](/source/Nahal_Tavor) without proper equipment added to the problems, and until 1953 a steady stream of founding residents left the village. In that year conditions improved and Kfar Kisch began to absorb [Jewish immigrants](/source/aliyah) from [Poland](/source/History_of_the_Jews_in_Poland), [Hungary](/source/History_of_the_Jews_in_Hungary), and the [Soviet Union](/source/History_of_the_Jews_in_Russia_and_the_Soviet_Union).{{Citation needed|date=January 2011}} Part of the village's land formerly belonged to the depopulated [Palestinian](/source/Palestinians) village of [Ma'dhar](/source/Ma'dhar), south of the old village site.<ref>{{cite book|title=All That Remains: The Palestinian Villages Occupied and Depopulated by Israel in 1948|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=_By7AAAAIAAJ|first1=Walid|last1=Khalidi|authorlink=Walid Khalidi|year=1992|location=[Washington D.C.](/source/Washington_D.C.)|publisher=[Institute for Palestine Studies](/source/Institute_for_Palestine_Studies)|isbn=0-88728-224-5|page=529}}</ref>
