# Kerrie Manley

**Kerrie Elizabeth Manley** (born 15 January 1982) is a former [footballer](/source/Association_football) from [Shrewsbury](/source/Shrewsbury) who played for the [Welsh national team](/source/Wales_women's_national_football_team) and [Coventry City](/source/Coventry_City_L.F.C.). Manley played predominantly as a [centre back](/source/Defender_(association_football)) and accumulated over 30 caps for Wales.

## Club career

Manley joined [Birmingham City](/source/Birmingham_City_L.F.C.) from [Wolves Women](/source/Wolverhampton_Wanderers_W.F.C.) in 2006, but suffered a facial injury on her first start for the Blues.[2] She moved on to [Bristol Academy](/source/Bristol_Academy_W.F.C.) during that season and remained there until 2009. She damaged cruciate ligaments in 2007[3] and again in January 2009.[4]

After recovering, Manley began 2009–10 back at Birmingham City, then moved to [Aston Villa](/source/Aston_Villa_L.F.C.) during the campaign. She joined [Nottingham Forest](/source/Nottingham_Forest_L.F.C.) in November 2010, making a debut at [Millwall Lionesses](/source/Millwall_Lionesses_L.F.C.).[5] Nomadic Manley joined [Coventry City](/source/Coventry_City_L.F.C.) ahead of season 2011–12.[6]

## International career

Manley was eligible for the [Wales women's national football team](/source/Wales_women's_national_football_team) through her Welsh grandfather.[7] She made her international debut, aged 24, in a 3–2 friendly defeat in [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland_women's_national_football_team) on 15 March 2006.[7][8]

As a student at [Manchester Metropolitan University](/source/Manchester_Metropolitan_University) Manley represented [Great Britain](/source/Great_Britain) in the [2007 Universiade](/source/2007_Summer_Universiade) in [Bangkok](/source/Bangkok).[9]
