**Kentucky Route 91** (**KY 91**) is a 49.783-mile-long (80.118 km) [state highway](/source/State_highway) that traverses three counties in western [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky). It begins in [Hopkinsville, Kentucky](/source/Hopkinsville%2C_Kentucky) and ends at the [Ohio River](/source/Ohio_River), the [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky)–[Illinois](/source/Illinois) state line in northern [Crittenden County](/source/Crittenden_County%2C_Kentucky).

## Route description

### Hopkinsville to Princeton

It begins at a junction with [U.S. Route 68](/source/U.S._Route_68) and [Kentucky Route 80](/source/Kentucky_Route_80) in [Hopkinsville, Kentucky](/source/Hopkinsville%2C_Kentucky), the [Christian County](/source/Christian_County%2C_Kentucky) seat. It crosses [KY-1682](/source/Kentucky_Route_1682), the Hopkinsville By-Pass before leaving town. It goes on a northwesterly path, and its junction with [Kentucky Route 398](/source/Kentucky_Route_398) is KY 91's access point to [Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park](/source/Pennyrile_Forest_State_Resort_Park).[2]

KY 91 enters [Caldwell County](/source/Caldwell_County%2C_Kentucky), and then it would meet [Kentucky Routes 139](/source/Kentucky_Route_139) and [293](/source/Kentucky_Route_293), along with [US 62](/source/U.S._Route_62_in_Kentucky) in downtown [Princeton](/source/Princeton%2C_Kentucky). It then traverses [Interstate 69](/source/Interstate_69_in_Kentucky) on the northwest outskirts of Princeton.[3][4]

### Princeton to Cave-in-Rock

KY 91 meets [Kentucky Route 70](/source/Kentucky_Route_70) and then [U.S. Route 641](/source/U.S._Route_641) at [Fredonia](/source/Fredonia%2C_Kentucky), a community northwest of Princeton.[5] KY 70, KY 91, and US 641 then [run concurrently](/source/Concurrency_(road)) from there into [Crittenden County](/source/Crittenden_County%2C_Kentucky). KY 70 departs from US 641/KY 91 at a point north of the Crittenden-Caldwell County line, while KY 91 remains with US 641 until the U.S. Route's northern terminus at the [U.S. Route 60](/source/U.S._Route_60) junction at [Kentucky](/source/Marion%2C_Kentucky). For a few blocks, KY 91 runs concurrently with US 60, and then KY 91 goes further north to reach its northern terminus at the [Cave-In-Rock Ferry](/source/Cave-In-Rock_Ferry) on the [Ohio River](/source/Ohio_River), which also marks the [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky)–[Illinois](/source/Illinois) state line. It becomes [Illinois State Highway 1](/source/Illinois_Route_1) upon entry into [Hardin County, Illinois](/source/Hardin_County%2C_Illinois).[6][3][7]
