# Kent discography

The [discography](/source/Discography) of the Swedish [alternative rock](/source/Alternative_rock) band [Kent](/source/Kent_(band)) consists of twelve studio [albums](/source/Album) (with two of them also released in English), three [compilation albums](/source/Compilation_album), one of whom is a [box set](/source/Box_set), one [EP](/source/Extended_play), forty Swedish and five English [singles](/source/Single_(music)). The band was founded by [Joakim Berg](/source/Joakim_Berg) (lead vocals and guitar), [Martin Sköld](/source/Martin_Sk%C3%B6ld) (bass and keyboards), [Sami Sirviö](/source/Sami_Sirvi%C3%B6) (lead guitar) and [Markus Mustonen](/source/Markus_Mustonen) (drums, backing vocals) in [Eskilstuna](/source/Eskilstuna) in 1990.

With eleven number-one albums,[1] five number-one singles,[2] 22 [Swedish Grammy Awards](/source/Grammis),[3] and over three million record sales, Kent is considered the most popular rock/pop group within Sweden and throughout Scandinavia. *[Vapen & ammunition](/source/Vapen_%26_ammunition)* (2002) topped the Swedish charts for eight weeks.[4]

As Kent's songs are primarily performed in Swedish, they are unfamiliar to most English-speaking audiences.[5] Kent briefly attempted an international career with English versions of the albums *[Isola](/source/Isola_(album))* (1997) and *[Hagnesta Hill](/source/Hagnesta_Hill)* (1999) and an accompanying American tour for the former, but stopped after finding less success than they had in Scandinavia.
