== Road ==
The village became prominent in the 1970s as the location of a new [service station](/source/motorway_service_area) on the [A38](/source/A38_road) [Devon Expressway](/source/Devon_Expressway) between Exeter and [Plymouth](/source/Plymouth), near the southern terminus of the then new [M5 motorway](/source/M5_motorway). This service area is a popular stopping place for tourists on their way to [South Devon](/source/South_Devon) and [Cornwall](/source/Cornwall).
