# Kenneth Day

**Kenneth Brian Day** (19 May 1935 – 19 January 1971) was an [English](/source/English_people) [cricketer](/source/Cricket).

Day was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) and [wicket-keeper](/source/Wicket-keeper). He made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for the [Marylebone Cricket Club](/source/Marylebone_Cricket_Club) against [Cambridge University](/source/Cambridge_University_Cricket_Club) at [Lord's](/source/Lord's) in 1958,[1] though he wasn't called upon to bat during the match, he did however take a single [catch](/source/Catch_(cricket)).[2]

Having played for the Middlesex Second XI since 1955, Day made his first-class debut for [Middlesex](/source/Middlesex_County_Cricket_Club) in 1959, making two appearances against [Kent](/source/Kent_County_Cricket_Club) and Cambridge University.[1] He again wasn't required to bat in either of these matches, while behind the [stumps](/source/Stumps) he took a total of three catches and made four [stumpings](/source/Stumping).[3] In his Second XI career for the county, which spanned from 1955 to 1960,[4] he never once reached double figures and was considered a genuine [number eleven batsman](/source/Batting_order_(cricket)#Lower_order_or_tail).[5]

He died following a fall at his [Fulham](/source/Fulham) home, on 19 January 1971 aged 35.
