# Kenneth Bjerre

**Kenneth Bjerre Jensen** (born 24 May 1984 in [Esbjerg](/source/Esbjerg), Denmark)[2] is a Danish international [motorcycle speedway](/source/Motorcycle_speedway) rider.[3][4] He earned 17 caps for the [Denmark national speedway team](/source/Denmark_national_speedway_team).[5]

## Career

Bjerre began his Polish league career in 2001 for [Ostrów](/source/TZ_Ostrovia_Ostr%C3%B3w_Wielkopolski).[3] The following season he began his career in Britain when he joined the [Newcastle Diamonds](/source/Newcastle_Diamonds) for the [2002 Premier League speedway season](/source/2002_Premier_League_speedway_season).[6] Over the following decade he would become a heat leader for both [Belle Vue Aces](/source/Belle_Vue_Aces) (2004 to 2006) and [Peterborough Panthers](/source/Peterborough_Panthers) (2007 to 2010).[4][7]

In September 2008, during the [Speedway Grand Prix Qualification](/source/Speedway_Grand_Prix_Qualification) he won the [GP Challenge](/source/2009_Speedway_Grand_Prix_Qualification), which ensured that he claimed a permanent slot for the [2009 Grand Prix](/source/2009_Speedway_Grand_Prix).[8]

During the 2009 Grand Prix series he finished in 8th place, which meant that he retained a permanent rider for the [2010 Grand Prix](/source/2010_Speedway_Grand_Prix). His consistency resulted in a 7th place finish in both the [2010 Speedway Grand Prix](/source/2010_Speedway_Grand_Prix) and [2011 Speedway Grand Prix](/source/2011_Speedway_Grand_Prix) but he dropped out of the Grand Prix after a disappointing 2012 campaign.

He raced in the United Kingdom for [Peterborough Panthers](/source/Peterborough_Panthers) and [King's Lynn Stars](/source/King's_Lynn_Stars) in the [Elite League](/source/Elite_League_(speedway)).[9]

In 2017, he raced for the Belle Vue and averaged 8.95. The following year he appeared for [Leicester Lions](/source/Leicester_Lions) before going back to Belle Vue for the 2019 season, in which he became the champion of Denmark after winning the 2019 [Danish Individual Speedway Championship](/source/Danish_Individual_Speedway_Championship).

## Personal life

His brother, [Lasse Bjerre](/source/Lasse_Bjerre), is also a speedway rider.[10]
