Field has been Composer-in-Residence at the [Ucross Foundation](/source/Ucross_Foundation), Wyoming, the Fundación Valparaíso, Spain, the [MacDowell Colony](/source/MacDowell_Colony), and the [Atlantic Center for the Arts](/source/Atlantic_Center_for_the_Arts), Florida. He has performed for President [Bill Clinton](/source/Bill_Clinton), and with former [J. Geils](/source/The_J._Geils_Band) frontman [Peter Wolf](/source/Peter_Wolf). Ken Field is a [Vandoren](/source/Vandoren) Performing Artist.

Field has undertaken residencies and conducted workshops at a number of US universities. He was formerly on the faculty of the Music Maker School, where he taught saxophone and flute. He also hosts ''The New Edge'', a weekly radio program on [WMBR](/source/WMBR) in [Cambridge, Massachusetts](/source/Cambridge%2C_Massachusetts) and [WOMR](/source/WOMR) in [Provincetown, Massachusetts](/source/Provincetown%2C_Massachusetts), and curated and co-directed Cultural Constructions, an intercultural music performance project.  Field is Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Cambridge, MA based [Tutoring Plus of Cambridge](/source/Tutoring_Plus_of_Cambridge), President of the Board of Directors of [JazzBoston](/source/JazzBoston), and a member of the Organizing Committee of the [HONK!](/source/HONK!) Festival of Activist Street Bands.
