# Kelvin Datcher

**Kelvin Datcher** is an American politician.[1] He serves as a [Democratic](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)) member of the [Alabama House of Representatives](/source/Alabama_House_of_Representatives) for the 52nd district since winning a special election in October 2024.[2] The district is based in the [Birmingham](/source/Birmingham,_Alabama)-area and includes a section of the [University of Alabama at Birmingham](/source/University_of_Alabama_at_Birmingham) and parts of [Fairfield](/source/Fairfield,_Alabama) and [Homewood](/source/Homewood,_Alabama).[3]
