==Playing career==
Webber began his playing days with [Barry Town](/source/Barry_Town_F.C.) before signing for [Everton](/source/Everton_F.C.) as a 17-year-old in 1960.<ref name="robins">{{cite book | first=Gareth M|last= Davies|last2= Jones|first2= Peter | title=The Racecourse Robins | year=1999|page=324|publisher=Davies and Jones|isbn=0-9524950-1-5}}</ref> He scored on his first-team debut for the [Goodison Park](/source/Goodison_Park) club in a [Football League Cup](/source/Football_League_Cup) tie against [Walsall](/source/Walsall_F.C.),<ref name="robins"/> but he was to make just four appearances in [The Football League](/source/The_Football_League) for them before moving to [Brighton & Hove Albion](/source/Brighton_%26_Hove_Albion_F.C.) in April 1963 in a £9,000 deal.<ref name="robins"/>

After a year at Brighton and then a two-year stint at [Wrexham](/source/Wrexham_A.F.C.), Webber moved to [Doncaster Rovers](/source/Doncaster_Rovers_F.C.) in June 1966 before joining [Chester](/source/Chester_City_F.C.) in June 1969.<ref name="robins"/> In his two-year spell at [Sealand Road](/source/Sealand_Road), Webber helped Chester reach the 1970 [Welsh Cup](/source/Welsh_Cup) final before losing to [Cardiff City](/source/Cardiff_City_F.C.), a fate he had also suffered when playing for Wrexham five years earlier.<ref name="robins"/>

==Work and Death==
After finishing his professional playing career, Webber became an insurance salesman and then the licensee of the Grosvenor Arms pub in [Handbridge](/source/Handbridge), [Chester](/source/Chester) and later the White Lion in [Buckley](/source/Buckley%2C_Flintshire).<ref name="robins"/> Unfortunately, ill health left to him leaving the licensed trade and he took up a position with a finance company.<ref name="robins"/>
