Reback was a native of [Stamford, Connecticut](/source/Stamford%2C_Connecticut).<ref name=hr/> She received her [bachelor's degree](/source/bachelor's_degree) from [Columbia University](/source/Columbia_University).<ref name=variety/> She launched her career in the mid-1970s, while working for [Alan King](/source/Alan_King_(comedian)) in [New York City](/source/New_York_City).<ref name=variety/> Reback also began writing for such television shows as ''[The Line](/source/The_Line_(TV_series))'' and ''[One Day at a Time](/source/One_Day_at_a_Time_(1975_TV_series))''.<ref name=variety/>

In 1980, Reback relocated to [California](/source/California).<ref name=variety/> In addition to screenwriting, Reback contributed to [Bill Clinton](/source/Bill_Clinton)'s speech writing team during his [1992 presidential campaign](/source/Bill_Clinton_presidential_campaign%2C_1992).<ref name=variety/><ref name=hr/>

Reback worked as a writer for [Fox Television Studios](/source/Fox_21_Television_Studios) for the last fifteen years of her life, until her death in 2010.<ref name=variety/>
