She missed out on competing in the [2012 Summer Olympics](/source/2012_Summer_Olympics) by 0.4 points, but competed in the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics), placing 13th in the [women's 3 metre springboard](/source/Diving_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_3_metre_springboard) event. She earned her first Olympic medal in the [2024 Summer Olympics](/source/2024_Summer_Olympics), winning silver in the [women's synchronized 3 metre springboard](/source/Diving_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_synchronized_3_metre_springboard) with [Sarah Bacon](/source/Sarah_Bacon).

Cook is the 5th child of Kevin and Laura Cook and lives in [The Woodlands, Texas](/source/The_Woodlands%2C_Texas). She has five siblings: Kevin, Kara, Kelsey, Kylie and Kendall. Cook started diving at the age of four; her sister, Kara, was a diver at [Purdue University](/source/Purdue_University). Kassidy trains five hours a day, six days a week. She was a child model before she started diving. The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) named her the 2010 high school girls national champion in its diving All-American program.

Kassidy Cook graduated from [The Woodlands High School](/source/The_Woodlands_High_School) in 2013 and from [Stanford University](/source/Stanford_University) in 2018.<ref name="TeamUsa" />

She is good friends with British diver [Tom Daley](/source/Tom_Daley). 

In October of 2024, Kassidy became engaged to long term boyfriend Ryan Swingle.
