The **Karrayyu** are an [Oromo](/source/Oromo_people) clan inhabiting the Awash Valley banks of Abadir and Merti area in central [Ethiopia](/source/Ethiopia).[1] They are [pastoralists](/source/Pastoralism).[2] Karrayyu neighbor the [Afar](/source/Afar_people) and [Argobba](/source/Argobba_people) people.[3] It is believed the extinct [Harla](/source/Harla) ethnicity were assimilated into Karrayyu Oromo in eastern [Shewa](/source/Shewa).[4][5][6]
