'''Kapelvej''' ({{lit|Chapel Road}}) is a street in the [Nørrebro](/source/N%C3%B8rrebro) district of [Copenhagen](/source/Copenhagen), [Denmark](/source/Denmark). It runs from [Nørrebrogade](/source/N%C3%B8rrebrogade) in the northeast to [Ågade](/source/%C3%85boulevard) in the southwest. It first part follows the southeast wall of [Assistens Cemetery](/source/Assistens_Cemetery_(Copenhagen)). The Neo-Gothic  [Holy Cross Church](/source/Holy_Cross_Church%2C_Copenhagen) is located at the corner with Hans Tavsens Gade. The street is blocked for cars at Tjørnegade.

[Assistens Cemetery](/source/Assistens_Cemetery_(Copenhagen)) was founded on the north side of the road in 1760. The former chapel (No. 4) us now operated as a cultural centre under the name {{Lang|da|Kulturcentret Assistens}}. The building was designed by [Valdemar Ingemann](/source/Valdemar_Ingemann) and built in 1867–1868 under supervision of city builder [Niels Sigfred Nebelong](/source/Niels_Sigfred_Nebelong).<ref>{{cite web|url=http://assistens.dk/kapellet/|title=Kapellet|language=Danish|website=Kulturcentret Assistens|accessdate=23 February 2016|archive-date=22 June 2013|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130622042636/http://assistens.dk/kapellet/|url-status=dead}}</ref>

[Holy Cross Church](/source/Holy_Cross_Church%2C_Copenhagen) (No. 38) was built to a [Neo-Gothic](/source/Gothic_Revival_style) design by [Hermann Baagøe Storck](/source/Hermann_Baag%C3%B8e_Storck) in 1887–1890. The former school Kapelvej School (No. 42) was built in 1879. From 1933 until 1960 it also housed the teacher training college [Blaagaard Seminarium](/source/Blaagaard_Seminarium). On the other side of the street is the former St. Joseph's Hospital. The wings on Kapelvej and [Korsgade](/source/Korsgade) are from 1900&ndash;1901 and were built as an extension to [Christian Hansen](/source/Christian_Hansen_(architect))'s original hospital building in [Griffenfeldsgade](/source/Griffenfeldsgade) from 1875.

==Transport==
The [Nørrebros Runddel](/source/N%C3%B8rrebros_Runddel_Station) [City Circle Line](/source/City_Circle_Line) station is located approximately 540 metres from the northern end of the street. [Nuuks Plads](/source/Nuuks_Plads_Station), also on the City Circle Line, is located approximately 600 metres from the southern part of the street by way of [Rantzausgade](/source/Rantzausgade). [Forum Station](/source/Forum_Station), served by the [M1](/source/M1_(Copenhagen)) and [M2](/source/M2_(Copenhagen)) lines, is located approximately 540 metres from the southern end of the street by way of [H.C. Ørsteds Vej](/source/H.C._%C3%98rsteds_Vej) and [Rolighedsvej](/source/Rolighedsvej) 9.
