Open tryouts for the Force were held at The Fieldhouse in [Blue Springs, Missouri](/source/Blue_Springs%2C_Missouri), on January 18, 2020, in preparation of the team's inaugural season.<ref name=kcforce/> The team's 2020 season was planned to feature two home games, against the [Omaha Red Devils](/source/Omaha_Red_Devils) and [Los Angeles Black Storm](/source/Los_Angeles_Black_Storm), and two away games, against the [Chicago Blitz](/source/Chicago_Blitz_(X_League)) and [Seattle Thunder](/source/Seattle_Thunder).<ref name=schedule2020>{{cite web |url=https://extfl.com/schedule/ |title=X League 2020 Schedule |website=extfl.com |access-date=January 16, 2020 |archive-date=December 17, 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191217201755/https://extfl.com/schedule/ |url-status=dead }}</ref> However, the season never took place amidst the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic).
