**Kanggye station** is a [railway station](/source/Railway_station) in [Kanggye](/source/Kanggye) municipal city, [Chagang Province](/source/Chagang_Province), [North Korea](/source/North_Korea), on the [Manp'o Line](/source/Manpo_Line) of the [Korean State Railway](/source/Korean_State_Railway); it is also the starting point of the narrow-gauge [Kanggye Line](/source/Kanggye_Line) to [Rangrim](/source/Rangrim_Station).[1]

## History

The station was opened on 1 December 1937 by the [Chosen Government Railway](/source/Chosen_Government_Railway), along with the rest of the seventh section of the Manp'o Line from [Chŏnch'ŏn](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hwaam_Station&action=edit&redlink=1) (now called Hwaam) to Kanggye.
