'''''Kamacops''''' is a [genus](/source/genus) of [dissorophid](/source/Dissorophidae) [temnospondyls](/source/Temnospondyli) known from the [Middle to Late Permian](/source/Middle_Permian) of Russia that was described by Yuri Gubin in 1980.<ref name=":0">{{Cite journal|last=Gubin|first=Yuri|date=1980|title=New Permian dissorophids of the Ural forelands|journal=Paleontologicheskii Zhurnal|language=ru|volume=1980|pages=82–90}}</ref> It is known from a single species, ''Kamacops acervalis,'' material of which is currently reposited in the [Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences](/source/Paleontological_Institute%2C_Russian_Academy_of_Sciences). ''Kamacops'' is one of the youngest dissorophids, along with ''[Iratusaurus](/source/Iratusaurus)'' and ''[Zygosaurus](/source/Zygosaurus)'' from Russia and ''[Anakamacops](/source/Anakamacops)'' from China and was one of the largest known dissorophids, with an estimated skull length of 24–30&nbsp;cm.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":1">{{Cite journal|last=Schoch|first=Rainer R.|date=1999|title=Studies on braincases of early tetrapods: structure, morphological diversity, and phylogeny - 2. A detailed study of the braincase region was performed by Schoch (1999),<ref name=":1" /> one of the first to examine this region in dissorophids. This study revealed extensive co-ossification of the braincase.
