**Košarkaški klub Studentski centar** ([Abbr](/source/Abbreviation). KK Studentski centar), commonly referred to as **Studentski centar**, or **SC Derby** due to sponsorship reasons, is a men's professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) [club](/source/Sports_club) based in [Podgorica](/source/Podgorica), [Montenegro](/source/Montenegro). The club currently competes in the [Montenegrin Basketball League](/source/Montenegrin_Basketball_League) and the [ABA League](/source/ABA_League).

SC Derby has won one [ABA League Second Division](/source/ABA_League_Second_Division) (in 2021) and one [ABA League Supercup](/source/ABA_League_Supercup) (in 2023) in its history.

## History

The club was founded in 1997 in [Podgorica](/source/Podgorica), [Montenegro](/source/Republic_of_Montenegro_(1992%E2%80%932006)), then part of [FR Yugoslavia](/source/Serbia_and_Montenegro). The club's founder is the Podgorica Student Dormitory.[1]

In 2015, the club got promoted to the [Montenegrin First A League](/source/Montenegrin_Basketball_League) for the [2015–16 season](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Prva_A_liga). In 2020, the club joined the [Second Adriatic League](/source/ABA_League_Second_Division) for the [2020–21 season](/source/2020%E2%80%9321_ABA_League_Second_Division).[2] The club was [league affiliate](/source/Farm_team) of [Budućnost VOLI](/source/KK_Budu%C4%87nost).

On 31 August 2021, the club announced a change of their name to **SC Derby** due to sponsorship reasons.[3]

On 20 September 2023, SC Derby won the [ABA League Supercup](/source/ABA_League_Supercup) after their upset win over [Partizan](/source/KK_Partizan) in the final, 81-83. The game winner was hit by [Borna Kapusta](/source/Borna_Kapusta) with 4.6 seconds left in the game.[4]
