==History==
New-Tex Broadcasting, a partnership of Wallace Simpson and H. S. Boles, filed with the [Federal Communications Commission](/source/Federal_Communications_Commission) on February 8, 1950, for a new 100-watt radio station to serve Clovis on 1240 kHz. After going into [comparative hearing](/source/comparative_hearing), the application was approved on August 29, 1951, and subsequently modified to specify 250 watts.<ref name="hc">{{Cite web|url= https://cdbs.recnet.com/corres/?doc=34730 |title= History Cards for KCLV|publisher=[Federal Communications Commission](/source/Federal_Communications_Commission)}} (Guide to reading History Cards)<!--Converted from {{FCC letter}}--></ref> KCLV began broadcasting on February 27, 1952.<ref>{{cite news|page=1|work=Clovis News-Journal|date=February 26, 1952|url=https://newspaperarchive.com/other-articles-clipping-feb-26-1952-3171175/|title=KCLV Will Start To Broadcast Wednesday}}</ref> Just months after the station got on air, Simpson and Boles dissolved their partnership, with Simpson buying out his partner.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://newspaperarchive.com/other-articles-clipping-jun-12-1952-3171171/|date=June 12, 1952|title=Notice: Dissolution of Partnership|work=Clovis News-Journal|page=2}}</ref> The next year, Odis L.
