Adrienne Lesniak in the ABC police drama series, *[NYPD Blue](/source/NYPD_Blue)*. ## Life and career Miceli was born in [Sunnyside, Queens](/source/Sunnyside,_Queens), [New York](/source/New_York_(state)).[2] Miceli studied acting at the [American Academy of Dramatic Arts](/source/American_Academy_of_Dramatic_Arts). Early in her career, she acted in television commercials, off-[Broadway](/source/Broadway_theatre) shows, and traveled with touring theater companies. Miceli appeared on [daytime television](/source/Daytime_television) and some [prime-time](/source/Prime_time) series. Miceli's big break came in 1994, when she was added to the cast of *[NYPD Blue](/source/NYPD_Blue)*, a prime-time series on [ABC](/source/American_Broadcasting_Company).[3][4] From 1994 to 1996, she played detective Adrienne Lesniak. Miceli left the series in 1996, along with [Gail O'Grady](/source/Gail_O'Grady) and [Sharon Lawrence](/source/Sharon_Lawrence).[5] Since leaving *[NYPD Blue](/source/NYPD_Blue)*, Miceli guest starred on *[The X-Files](/source/The_X-Files)*, *[Seinfeld](/source/Seinfeld)*, *[New York Undercover](/source/New_York_Undercover)*, *[The Pretender](/source/The_Pretender_(TV_series))*, *[The Sopranos](/source/The_Sopranos)*, *[Sliders](/source/Sliders_(TV_series))*, *[Judging Amy](/source/Judging_Amy)* and *[Strong Medicine](/source/Strong_Medicine)*. She also co-starred in the biographical drama film *[Dangerous Beauty](/source/Dangerous_Beauty)* (1998), and starred in the crime drama film, *[Gentleman B.](/source/The_Gentleman_Bandit)* (2002).[6] In the late 1990s, while still seeking acting roles, Miceli began working as a home organizer, including in an executive position in a professional association for that industry.
