**Justin Melck** (born 4 January 1983) is a South African born [German](/source/Germany) [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player. He plays as a [Flanker](/source/Flanker_(rugby_union)).

## Early life

Melck was born in [Cape Town](/source/Cape_Town)[1] and educated at [Rondebosch Boys High School](/source/Rondebosch_Boys_High_School),[2] [Fettes College](/source/Fettes_College)[3] in [Scotland](/source/Scotland) and [Stellenbosch University](/source/Stellenbosch_University),[2]

## Career in South Africa

Melck has played for [Western Province](/source/Western_Province_(rugby_team)) and the [Super Rugby](/source/Super_Rugby) side [Stormers](/source/Stormers).[4]

Melck captained the [Western Province](/source/Western_Province_(rugby_team)) side during the [Currie Cup](/source/Currie_Cup) tournament in July 2007.[5]

## Munster

He has signed a three-month loan deal with European Champions [Munster](/source/Munster_Rugby).[6][7]

## Saracens

Melck joined Saracens March 2009 and left at the end of the 2013-14 season.

## Personal life

He got married on 6 February 2010 to Georgina Simpson.

## Germany

Melck was eligible to play for [Germany](/source/Germany_national_rugby_union_team) because of his German mother, was called up for their match against [Sweden](/source/Sweden_national_rugby_union_team) on 26 April 2014 where he represents the country for the first time.[8]
