'''Julio Numhauser''' is a Chilean musician of the [Nueva Canción](/source/Nueva_Canci%C3%B3n)-movement. He founded the [folk music](/source/folk_music) group [Quilapayún](/source/Quilapay%C3%BAn) in 1965 together with the brothers, [Julio Carrasco](/source/Julio_Carrasco) and [Eduardo Carrasco](/source/Eduardo_Carrasco), where he stayed until 1967. 1968 he founded the folk music group, [Amerindios](/source/Amerindios), together with [Mario Salazar](/source/Mario_Salazar). Numhauser left Chile in 1973 due to the dictatorship of [Augusto Pinochet](/source/Augusto_Pinochet). In 1975 he moved to Sweden, where he still lives today.
