# Julian Fenton

**Julian Fenton** (born **Julian John Bramley** 21 May 1964 in [Marylebone](/source/Marylebone), London) is an English rock drummer, composer and teacher, formerly of 1990s rock bands [Kinky Machine](/source/Kinky_Machine) and [Mansun](/source/Mansun).[1]

Following the split of Kinky Machine in 1995, Fenton briefly joined Mansun in 1996, filling in between the band's original drummer Hib's departure and [Andie Rathbone](/source/Andie_Rathbone)'s recruitment. Fenton notably performed with the group at that years [T in the Park](/source/T_in_the_Park) and has also toured with [the Lightning Seeds](/source/The_Lightning_Seeds), [Duran Duran](/source/Duran_Duran), [ABC](/source/ABC_(band)), TJ Johnson and His Band, [A-ha](/source/A-ha), [Jimmy Ruffin](/source/Jimmy_Ruffin)[2] and [Arthur Brown](/source/Arthur_Brown_(musician)).[3]

Fenton's stepfather, [Neil Aspinall](/source/Neil_Aspinall) was tour manager and personal assistant for [the Beatles](/source/The_Beatles) and was regarded by some, including [George Harrison](/source/George_Harrison), as "the [Fifth Beatle](/source/Fifth_Beatle)".[4] He is also the half-brother of artist [Joe Fenton](/source/Joe_Fenton_(artist)).

Fenton currently plays with various rock, jazz, funk and reggae bands and, having studied himself with [Trevor Tomkins](/source/Trevor_Tomkins) and Bob Armstrong, also teaches drums himself.[3]
