==Career==
He was a [cameraman](/source/cameraman) for [John Huston](/source/John_Huston)'s war documentaries and began producing as assistant to [Mark Hellinger](/source/Mark_Hellinger).{{citation needed|date=June 2021}}

Buck was born in [St Louis, Missouri](/source/St_Louis%2C_Missouri), on July 30, 1917. From his 1945 marriage to actress Joyce Gates (née Joyce Ruth Getz), Buck had one child, journalist [Joan Juliet Buck](/source/Joan_Juliet_Buck).
