**Josh One** (born **Joshua Noteboom**, March 14, 1975 in [Sioux City, Iowa](/source/Sioux_City,_Iowa), United States) is an American producer and DJ, based in [Long Beach, California](/source/Long_Beach,_California).[1]

## History

His debut recording as a solo artist was "Contemplation",[2] in 2001. He remixed the three time, Grammy Award nominated [Nappy Roots](/source/Nappy_Roots) "Po' Folk's"[3] on [Atlantic Records](/source/Atlantic_Records). Josh One's debut album, *Narrow Path*,[4] was released in 2004, and featured [Aloe Blacc](/source/Aloe_Blacc) and [Myka 9](/source/Myka_9). His second album *Tolerance*,[5] was released in 2009. He remixed [Fitz and the Tantrums](/source/Fitz_and_the_Tantrums) ["Out of My League"](/source/Out_of_My_League_(song)) that went platinum sales[6] and hit No. 1 on the *[Billboard](/source/Billboard_(magazine))* Alternative chart,[7] on [Elektra Records](/source/Elektra_Records).

In 2005 he created Boomnote Music, an [independent record label](/source/Independent_record_label) and production company.
