**Josh Haden** (born 1968 in [New York City](/source/New_York_City)) is an American musician and singer. He is the founder, bassist and singer of the group [Spain](/source/Spain_(band)). Haden is the son of [Charlie Haden](/source/Charlie_Haden) and Ellen David.[1][2]

## Career

Haden is the founder, bassist and singer of the group [Spain](/source/Spain_(band)), whose first album, *[The Blue Moods of Spain](/source/The_Blue_Moods_of_Spain)*, appeared on [Restless Records](/source/Restless_Records) to wide acclaim. The band toured extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, attracting considerable notice.

Other credits include [Handsome Boy Modeling School](/source/Handsome_Boy_Modeling_School) (on which he performed a duet with [Sean Lennon](/source/Sean_Lennon)).

His most recent projects were the 2004 *Light of Day* EP, released on Diamond Soul Recordings, and his debut solo LP, *Devoted*, released in 2007, produced by [Dan the Automator](/source/Dan_the_Automator) and featuring performances by former Spain guitarist [Merlo Podlewski](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Merlo_Podlewski&action=edit&redlink=1), keyboardist [John Medeski](/source/John_Medeski), and turntablist [Kid Koala](/source/Kid_Koala).
