# Josh Boyden

**Joshua Ashton Boyden** (born 16 April 2004) is an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who previously played for [Lancashire](/source/Lancashire_County_Cricket_Club) and the [England national under-19 cricket team](/source/England_national_under-19_cricket_team).[1][2][3] He is a left handed batsman and left arm [medium fast](/source/Fast_bowling) bowler.[4][5] In July 2022, he signed a professional contract with Lancashire County Cricket Club, he left the club in October 2025.[6][7][1]

## Early life

Boyden rose through the age groups at his local Euxton Cricket Club.[1] From 2021 to 2022, he played for [Wigan Cricket Club](/source/Wigan_Cricket_Club).[1]

## International career

In the run up to the [2022 Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup](/source/2022_Under-19_Men's_Cricket_World_Cup) final, Boyden finished with 15 wickets for England[1] and was named in the [International Cricket Council](/source/International_Cricket_Council)'s (ICC) team of the tournament.[8]

## Professional career

Boyden made his [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) debut for Lancashire against [Middlesex](/source/Middlesex_County_Cricket_Club) on 8 August 2024, in the [2024 One-Day Cup](/source/2024_One-Day_Cup).[9] He made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for Lancashire against [Surrey](/source/Surrey_County_Cricket_Club) on 22 August 2024, in the [2024 County Championship](/source/2024_County_Championship).[10]

In October 2025 he left Lancashire.[11]
