**Joseph Chesire** (born November 12, 1957) is a former [Kenyan](/source/Kenya) middle-distance runner who represented his country in the [1984](/source/Athletics_at_the_1984_Summer_Olympics), [1988](/source/Athletics_at_the_1988_Summer_Olympics_-_Men's_1500_metres) and [1992 Summer Olympics](/source/Athletics_at_the_1992_Summer_Olympics). He came fourth in Los Angeles and Barcelona. Cheshire also won the [1500 m](/source/1500_m) at the [London Grand Prix](/source/London_Grand_Prix) in 1992. His greatest indoor achievement was the bronze medal at the [1985 IAAF World Indoor Games](/source/1985_IAAF_World_Indoor_Games).

He became the oldest entrant into the [1500 metres at the World Championships in Athletics](/source/1500_metres_at_the_World_Championships_in_Athletics), at 35 years, 281 days at the 1993 edition.[1]
