Adeyemi was born on 14 January 1957 in [Ojo, Lagos State](/source/Ojo%2C_Lagos). He was educated at  Government Teachers’ Training College, [Badagry](/source/Badagry);  [Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan](/source/University_of_Ibadan); and [Lagos State University](/source/Lagos_State_University). After three years as a teacher, he was [ordained](/source/ordained) [deacon](/source/deacon) in 1984 and [priest](/source/priest) in 1986. After a [curacy](/source/Curate) at [Ebute Metta](/source/Ebute_Metta) he held [incumbencies](/source/Incumbent_(ecclesiastical)) at [Awodi-Ora](/source/Badagry_Division), [Idumu](/source/Lagos_State) and [Festac Town](/source/Festac_Town). He became a [Canon](/source/Canon_(priest)) in 1999 and [Archdeacon](/source/Archdeacon) of [Festac](/source/Festac_Town) in 2000.
