**Josefin Anna Louise Olsson** (born 23 August 1989) is a Swedish [sailor](/source/Sailing_(sport)) primarily focusing on single-handed dinghies, who won a silver medal in the Laser Radial event at the [2020 Summer Olympics](/source/Sailing_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics) and also holds a silver medal from the Laser Radial World Championship and a World champion title from the [Europe](/source/Europe_(dinghy)) class.

## Career

Josefin Anna Louise Olsson was born 23 August 1989 in Saint Nicholas parish in [Nyköping](/source/Nyk%C3%B6ping), Sweden.[1][2] She started sailing in [Oxelösunds Segelsällskap](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Oxel%C3%B6sunds_Segels%C3%A4llskap&action=edit&redlink=1) in nearby [Oxelösund](/source/Oxel%C3%B6sund).[3] She won the 2008 [Europe World Championships](/source/Europe_World_Championships) in [Vila Real de Santo António](/source/Vila_Real_de_Santo_Ant%C3%B3nio), Portugal, ahead of Danish [Anne-Marie Rindom](/source/Anne-Marie_Rindom) and [Anette Viborg Andreasen](/source/Anette_Viborg_Andreasen).[4] In 2008, she was awarded the Halvan trophy for best position by a youth Swedish sailor by the [Swedish Sailing Federation](/source/Swedish_Sailing_Federation).[5]

At the [2012 Summer Olympics](/source/2012_Summer_Olympics), she competed in the [Women's Laser Radial class](/source/Sailing_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_Laser_Radial_class), finishing in 18th place.[1] Olsson continued sailing the Laser Radial for the next Olympic cycle, and in September 2014, she won a silver medal at the [2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships](/source/2014_ISAF_Sailing_World_Championships_%E2%80%93_Laser_Radial) in [Santander, Spain](/source/Santander%2C_Spain), behind [Marit Bouwmeester](/source/Marit_Bouwmeester) of the Netherlands.[6]

She competed in the same event at the [2016 Olympics](/source/2016_Olympics), finishing in sixth place.[1] She [competed](/source/Sailing_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Qualification) at the [2020 Summer Olympics](/source/2020_Summer_Olympics) in Tokyo 2021, competing in [Laser Radial](/source/Sailing_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Laser_Radial).[7] This time, she won a silver medal after having won the medal race.[8]
