== Life ==
On 2 May 1946 Josef donated the '''Sammlung Haubrich''', a collection by lawyer of art from the years 1914 to 1939 to the city of [Cologne](/source/Cologne). This included significant works by major [German Expressionists](/source/German_Expressionism) such as [Erich Heckel](/source/Erich_Heckel), [Karl Schmidt-Rottluff](/source/Karl_Schmidt-Rottluff), [Ernst Ludwig Kirchner](/source/Ernst_Ludwig_Kirchner), [August Macke](/source/August_Macke) and [Otto Mueller](/source/Otto_Mueller). There were also works by other representatives of Classical Modernism such as [Marc Chagall](/source/Marc_Chagall) and [Otto Dix](/source/Otto_Dix) as well as works by the [Figurative Constructivists](/source/Figurative_Constructivism), many of whom came from Cologne.
