Dahmen was married to the actress [Gisela von Collande](/source/Gisela_von_Collande), with whom he had a daughter [Andrea Dahmen](/source/Andrea_Dahmen). His granddaughter [Julia Dahmen](/source/Julia_Dahmen) is also an actress.
