**Jordan William Holsgrove** (born 10 September 1999) is a [Scottish](/source/Scotland) professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for [Primeira Liga](/source/Primeira_Liga) club [Estoril](/source/G.D._Estoril_Praia).

## Club career

### Reading

Born in [Edinburgh](/source/Edinburgh) while his father was representing [Hibernian](/source/Hibernian_F.C.), Holsgrove returned to England a few months later, and was a [Reading](/source/Reading_F.C.) youth graduate.[2] On 13 February 2017, he signed his first professional contract with the club.[3] On 26 February 2019, after already becoming a regular with the club's under-23 squad, he agreed to a new deal until 2021.[4]

On 27 August 2019, after spending the pre-season with the first team, Holsgrove was loaned to Spanish [Segunda División B](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B) side [CD Atlético Baleares](/source/CD_Atl%C3%A9tico_Baleares) on a [season](/source/2019%E2%80%9320_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B)-long deal.[5] He made his senior debut on 1 September, coming on as a second-half [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) for [Marc Rovirola](/source/Marc_Rovirola) in a 1–0 home win against [UD Las Palmas Atlético](/source/UD_Las_Palmas_Atl%C3%A9tico).[6]

Holsgrove scored his first senior goal on 3 November 2019, netting *ATB*'s third in a 3–1 home success over [Real Oviedo Vetusta](/source/Real_Oviedo_Vetusta).[7] He returned to the Royals in July 2020, despite Atlético Baleares attempting to extend his loan deal to cover for the [play-offs](/source/2020_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n_B_play-offs), as the season was delayed due to the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic).[8]

### Celta

On 10 September 2020, Holsgrove signed a permanent two-year contract with [La Liga](/source/La_Liga) side [RC Celta de Vigo](/source/RC_Celta_de_Vigo), being initially assigned to [the reserves](/source/Celta_de_Vigo_B) also in the third division.[9][10] After impressing with the B-side, he made his first team debut on 5 January 2021; after replacing [Lautaro De León](/source/Lautaro_De_Le%C3%B3n) in the 81st minute, he scored his side's second in a 2–5 [Copa del Rey](/source/Copa_del_Rey) away loss against [UD Ibiza](/source/UD_Ibiza).[11]

Holsgrove made his debut in the Spanish top tier on 8 January 2021, replacing [Miguel Baeza](/source/Miguel_Baeza_(footballer)) at half-time in a 0–4 home loss against [Villarreal CF](/source/Villarreal_CF).[12]

### Paços de Ferreira

On 27 June 2022, [Paços de Ferreira](/source/F.C._Pa%C3%A7os_de_Ferreira) announced the signing of Holsgrove.[13] On 27 July 2023, Holsgrove announced his departure from Paços de Ferreira.[14]

### Olympiacos

On 28 July 2023, [Olympiacos](/source/Olympiacos_F.C.) announced the signing of Holsgrove, with his immediate loan out to [Estoril](/source/G.D._Estoril_Praia).[15]

## International career

He was part of the [Scotland under-20](/source/Scotland_national_under-20_football_team) team that won bronze medal at [2017 Toulon Tournament](/source/2017_Toulon_Tournament), the nations first ever medal at the competition.[1]

## Personal life

Holsgrove hails from a family of footballers. His English-born father [Paul](/source/Paul_Holsgrove) was also a midfielder,[2] while his uncle [Lee](/source/Lee_Holsgrove) and his grandfather [John](/source/John_Holsgrove) were both defenders.
