**Johan Martinus "Joop" Langhorst** (21 June 1943 – 9 October 2013) was a [Dutch](/source/Dutch_people) professional [association football](/source/Association_football) player who played as a [right back](/source/Right_back) defender.

## Club career

Born in [Rotterdam](/source/Rotterdam), Netherlands, Langhorst debuted with [Sparta Rotterdam](/source/Sparta_Rotterdam) on 18 December 1966 against [Sittardia](/source/Fortuna_Sittard).[1] He played 68 games in three seasons.[2] In his first season, the club won the [KNVB Cup](/source/KNVB_Cup), defeating [ADO Den Haag](/source/ADO_Den_Haag) 1–0.[2] In 1969, he signed with [S.V.V.](/source/Schiedamse_Voetbal_Vereniging), where, in his debut season, the team won the [Eerste Divisie](/source/1968%E2%80%9369_Eerste_Divisie) (First Division) and the championship. Langhorst retired the following season.[2]

## Death

Langhorst moved from Rotterdam to [Sneek](/source/Sneek)[*[when?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Dates_and_numbers#Chronological_items)*] and died in [Groningen](/source/Groningen) at age 70 on 9 October 2013.[2]
