# Jonathan Witchell

**Jonathan Witchell** (20 September 1974 – 15 December 2007) was a [BBC](/source/BBC) [reporter](/source/Reporter) who worked for [Radio Kent](/source/Radio_Kent) from 1998 until his death.[1] He was a two time [Shepherd Neame](/source/Shepherd_Neame) [Kent](/source/Kent) Journalist of the Year, in 2004[2] and 2006.[3]

He was born and raised in [Sevenoaks](/source/Sevenoaks)[4] in Kent and studied at the [University of Salford](/source/University_of_Salford) for his bachelor's degree and [University of Stirling](/source/University_of_Stirling) for his master's degree. He died in 2007 after a short illness.
