He was a contestant on [reality TV](/source/reality_TV) show [The Contender](/source/The_Contender_(television_series)). On the show, he was placed on the '''East Coast''' team, fighting Jesse Brinkley in the second first round fight. In a second consecutive surprise (after [Gomez](/source/Alfonso_Gomez) beat [Manfredo](/source/Peter_Manfredo)), Reid lost a hard-fought fight against Brinkley.
