**Johnny Renando Ruffin** (born July 29, 1971) is an American former professional [baseball](/source/Baseball) [pitcher](/source/Pitcher). He played six seasons in [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) (MLB) for the [Cincinnati Reds](/source/Cincinnati_Reds), [Arizona Diamondbacks](/source/Arizona_Diamondbacks) and [Florida Marlins](/source/Miami_Marlins). He also played one season in [Nippon Professional Baseball](/source/Nippon_Professional_Baseball) (NPB) with the [Kintetsu Buffaloes](/source/Kintetsu_Buffaloes) and one season in the [KBO League](/source/KBO_League) for the [SK Wyverns](/source/SK_Wyverns).

## Career

Ruffin was drafted by the [Chicago White Sox](/source/Chicago_White_Sox) in the 4th round of the [1988 MLB draft](/source/1988_Major_League_Baseball_draft). He played his first professional season with their rookie club [Gulf Coast League White Sox](/source/Gulf_Coast_League_White_Sox) in . He played in MLB with the Cincinnati Reds from 1993 to 1996, then spent a season in Japan with the Kintetsu Buffaloes. (He returned to MLB with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2000) and Florida Marlins (2001). He played his last affiliated season for Cincinnati's Triple-A [Louisville Bats](/source/Louisville_Bats) in and appeared in Korea with the SK Wyverns that same season. His last professional season was with the independent [Pennsylvania Road Warriors](/source/Pennsylvania_Road_Warriors) of the [Atlantic League](/source/Atlantic_League_of_Professional_Baseball) in .
