Canadian animator

**John Weldon** (born May 11, 1945) is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians) [actor](/source/Actor), [composer](/source/Composer), [animator](/source/Animator) and [movie director](/source/Movie_director), known for his [National Film Board of Canada](/source/National_Film_Board_of_Canada) (NFB) [animated shorts](/source/Animated_short).[1]

Born in [Belleville](/source/Belleville%2C_Ontario), [Ontario](/source/Ontario), Weldon lives in [Montreal](/source/Montreal), Quebec. Following his retirement from the NFB, Weldon has devoted his time to songwriting and comic books, including a planned comic book series, *Ashcan Alley*.[2]
