'''John Rost''' (born {{Birth date|df=yes|1944|3|28}}) is a former British [ice hockey](/source/ice_hockey) player. He played between 1962 and 1982 for the [Brighton Tigers](/source/Brighton_Tigers), [Wembley Lions](/source/Wembley_Lions) and [Streatham Redskins](/source/Streatham_Redskins). He was inducted to the [British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame](/source/British_Ice_Hockey_Hall_of_Fame) in 1991.

During his time with Streatham, Rost also [coached](/source/Coach_(ice_hockey)) and managed the team at various times. He became a member of the [British Ice Hockey Association](/source/British_Ice_Hockey_Association) in 1976 and has managed both the [Great Britain senior](/source/Great_Britain_national_ice_hockey_team) and junior teams.

Rost is the son of fellow British Ice Hockey Hall of Famer [Clarence Rost](/source/Clarence_Rost) and he is the father of former player [Warren Rost](/source/Warren_Rost).
