Privett became a target of criticism from theological conservatives after the provincial House of Bishops declined to consent to the election of the Revd [Jacob Worley](/source/Jacob_Worley) to succeed [William Anderson](/source/William_Anderson_(bishop_of_Caledonia)) as [Bishop of Caledonia](/source/Anglican_Diocese_of_Caledonia).
