He was a [canon](/source/Canon_(priest)) at  [All Saints Cathedral, Edmonton](/source/All_Saints'_Anglican_Cathedral_(Edmonton)) from 1963 and [Archdeacon](/source/Archdeacon) of [Edmonton](/source/Anglican_Diocese_of_Edmonton) until his elevation to the [episcopate](/source/episcopate) as [its diocesan bishop](/source/Anglican_Diocese_of_Edmonton) in 1976. He retired in 1979 and died on February 26, 1994.
