**John Haeny** (1941 – 19 September 2023) was an American-born [record producer](/source/Record_producer), [recording engineer](/source/Recording_engineer), [mixing engineer](/source/Mixing_engineer), [sound designer](/source/Sound_designer), and [academic](/source/Academic_staff). Over a career spanning several decades, he contributed to a broad range of recording projects, working on albums by [The Doors](/source/The_Doors), [Judy Collins](/source/Judy_Collins), [Linda Ronstadt](/source/Linda_Ronstadt), and [Jackson Browne](/source/Jackson_Browne), among others. During his teenage years, Haeny developed an interest in photography while studying in high school. ## Music career
