# John Gjerde

**John Gjerde** (10 May 1929 – 7 March 2005) was a Norwegian politician for the [Liberal Party](/source/Liberal_Party_of_Norway).[1]

## Life and career

John Gjerde was born in [Sande Municipality](/source/Sande_Municipality_(M%C3%B8re_og_Romsdal)) on 10 May 1929.[1]

Gjerde served as a deputy representative to the [Norwegian Parliament](/source/Stortinget) from [Møre og Romsdal](/source/M%C3%B8re_og_Romsdal_(Storting_constituency)) during the term 1977–1981.[1]

On the local level Gjerde held various positions on the [municipal council](/source/Municipal_council_(Norway)) for [Sande Municipality](/source/Sande_Municipality_(M%C3%B8re_og_Romsdal)) from 1959 to 1964 and 1971 to 1987, serving as mayor from 1975.[1]

John Gjerde died on 7 March 2005, at the age of 75.
