== Early life ==
Keefe was born in [Chicago](/source/Chicago), [Illinois](/source/Illinois). He graduated from [Washburn High School](/source/Washburn_High_School) in Minneapolis. Keefe served in the [United States Army](/source/United_States_Army) in 1946 and 1947. Keefe went to [Macalester College](/source/Macalester_College). He received his bachelor's degree from the [University of Minnesota](/source/University_of_Minnesota) and his law degree from [William Mitchell College of Law](/source/William_Mitchell_College_of_Law). He lived with his wife and family in [Hopkins, Minnesota](/source/Hopkins%2C_Minnesota) and practiced law.

== Career ==
He served as the municipal judge for the city of Hopkins. Keefe served in the [Minnesota House of Representatives](/source/Minnesota_House_of_Representatives) from 1967 to 1972 and in the [Minnesota Senate](/source/Minnesota_Senate) from 1973 to 1982. He was a [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)). He then served in the [Hennepin County](/source/Hennepin_County%2C_Minnesota) Commission from 1984 to 1994.

== Death ==
