**Jobat** is one of the 230 [Vidhan Sabha](/source/Madhya_Pradesh_Vidhan_Sabha) (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) state in central [India](/source/India).[1] This constituency came into existence in 1951, as one of the 79 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile [Madhya Bharat](/source/Madhya_Bharat) state. This constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the [Scheduled tribes](/source/Adivasi) since its inception.[2]

## Overview

Jobat (constituency number 192) is one of the two Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in [Alirajpur district](/source/Alirajpur_district). This constituency covers the entire Bhavra [tehsil](/source/Tehsil), Jobat [nagar panchayat](/source/Nagar_panchayat) and parts of Jobat and Alirajpur tehsils of this district.[3]

Jobat is part of [Ratlam Lok Sabha constituency](/source/Ratlam_(Lok_Sabha_constituency)) along with seven other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, [Alirajpur](/source/Alirajpur_Assembly_constituency) in this district, [Jhabua](/source/Jhabua_Assembly_constituency), [Thandla](/source/Thandla_Assembly_constituency) and [Petlawad](/source/Petlawad_Assembly_constituency) in [Jhabua district](/source/Jhabua_district) and [Ratlam Rural](/source/Ratlam_Rural_Assembly_constituency), [Ratlam City](/source/Ratlam_City_Assembly_constituency) and [Sailana](/source/Sailana_Assembly_constituency) in [Ratlam district](/source/Ratlam_district).[3]
