# Jim Trainor

**James Trainor** is an American [experimental filmmaker](/source/Experimental_film) and [animator](/source/Experimental_animation). He is known for his 1999 short animated film *[The Bats](/source/The_Bats_(film))*,[3] which won an Honorable Mention in the [Sundance Film Festival](/source/Sundance_Film_Festival)'s Short Filmmaking category in 2000.[4] His other films include *The Fetishist* (1997) and *The Moschops* (2000).[5]

He is an associate professor at the [School of the Art Institute of Chicago](/source/School_of_the_Art_Institute_of_Chicago) (SAIC), where he has taught since 2000.[2]
