**Jhenaidah-1** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). The newly elected member of parliament is [Md Asaduzzaman](/source/Md_Asaduzzaman_(lawyer)).

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Shailkupa Upazila](/source/Shailkupa_Upazila).[2][3]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from a Jessore constituency when the former Jessore District was split into four districts: [Jhenaidah](/source/Jhenaidah_District), [Jessore](/source/Jessore_District), [Magura](/source/Magura_District), and [Narail](/source/Narail_District).[4]
