To the east (downstream) is [Victoria Avenue Bridge](/source/Victoria_Avenue_Bridge) on [Victoria Avenue](/source/Victoria_Avenue%2C_Cambridge) and beyond that [Midsummer Common](/source/Midsummer_Common), [common land](/source/common_land) still used for [grazing](/source/grazing). Close by just downstream is [Jesus Green Swimming Pool](/source/Jesus_Green_Swimming_Pool), a very long outdoor [lido](/source/Lido_(swimming_pool)). The stretch of river northeast (downstream) of Jesus Lock is sometimes called the lower river.
