The [St. Louis Cardinals](/source/St._Louis_Cardinals) selected Todd in the second round (82nd overall) of the [2007 MLB draft](/source/2007_MLB_draft) out of the [University of Arkansas](/source/University_of_Arkansas). He made his [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) debut with the Cardinals in 2009, appearing for them in one game before joining the [Cleveland Indians](/source/Cleveland_Indians) during the midseason.
